राष्ट्रीय बाल बाल स्वास्थ्य कार्यक्रम (आरबीएसके) के तहत् साझेदारी और भी ज्यादा बच्चों तक पहुंचने के लिए योजनाओं को गति देने पर केंद्रित है।
जनवरी 2021: भारत की सबसे बड़ी क्लेफ्ट केयर एनजीओ स्माइल ट्रेन इंडिया और नेशनल हेल्थ मिशन, मध्यप्रदेश ने अपनी सफल साझेदारी को नवीनीकृत करने के लिए एक एमओयू (समझौता ज्ञापन पर) पर हस्ताक्षर किए, जिसने मुफ्त सर्जिकल केयर देने में मदद की और 2016 के बाद से मध्यप्रदेश में जन्म लेने वाले 1700 बच्चों को लाभाविन्त किया। इस साझेदारी को दिसंबर 2023 तक नवीनीकृत (रिन्यू) किया गया है।
साझेदारी के तहत, मध्यप्रदेश में आरबीएसके अधिकारी निशुल्क उपचार के लिए कटे होंठ और तालु वाले बच्चों की पहचान करेंगे और सात स्माइल ट्रेन पार्टनर अस्पतालों में से एक में भेजेंगे। स्माइल ट्रेन पार्टनर अस्पताल बच्चों को निशुल्क फटे होंठ और तालू की सर्जरी करेगा और बच्चों को पोस्ट ऑपरेटिव (ऑपरेशन के बाद) देखभाल प्रदान करेगा।
क्लेफ्ट, ऊपरी होंठ या मुंह की छत के बीच की एक गेप है, जो एक जन्मजात विसंगति है। सर्जरी और इससे संबंधित सहायक देखभाल के साथ पूरी तरह इसका इलाज किया जा सकता है, लेकिन महत्वपूर्ण यह है कि बच्चों को स्वस्थ और उत्पादक जीवन जीने के लिए सही उम्र में उपचार मिले। देरी से उपचार मिलने की स्थिति में बोलने और सुनने में समस्याएं हो सकती हैं। इसके अलावा सामाजिक कलंक और अलगाव भी झेलना पड़ सकता है। स्माइल ट्रेन इंडिया एक एनजीओ है जो पूरी तरह से क्लेफ्ट के मुफ्त उपचार का सहयोग करता है। पिछले 20 वर्षों में, उन्होंने भारत भर के बच्चों के लिए 6 लाख से ज्यादा निशुल्क सर्जरी और मध्यप्रदेश में लगभग 29000 क्लेफ्ट सर्जरी का सहयोग किया है।
